Professional Development Department

The Professional Development Department comprises two major committees – Professional Advancement and Central Education

Central Education is the umbrella committee of the various education committees:
Early Childhood Care, Primary, Secondary, Special Education, Technical Vocation and Training, and Tertiary.

Professional Advancement Committee Central Education Committee
  • Oversees all professional matters
  • Organizes professional development workshops* – school, national
  • Provides input for Collective Agreements re professional advancement
  • Provides training for members in the care and prevention of HIV/AIDS
  • Offers opportunities for professional advancement through certification courses ( M. Ed)
  • Engages in national consultations on education matters
  • Responds to education initiatives
  • Monitors the impact of education reforms
  • Supports other education committees
