Three children (undergraduates) who are attending the University of the West Indies (UWI) on a full time basis are eligible to qualify for the award of TTUTA’s Urich Loutoo Bursaries this year. Prospective awardees must be children of teachers who have been TTUTA members for more than two years. Each bursary is worth five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). TTUTA contributes fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00) annually to the UWI Development and Endowment Fund from which these funds are disbursed.
The Award is open to students in three Faculties: the Faculty of Humanities and Education with emphasis on Theatre Arts, Musical Arts Special, or Visual Arts Special; the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences with emphasis on Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and; the Faculty of Social Sciences with emphasis on Social Work or Management Studies. The bursaries cover one academic year.
The advertisement for bursaries usually appears in the daily newspapers and on the UWI campus during the period April to May each year. The Campus Committee for Undergraduate Awards is responsible for selecting the awardees with the necessary confirmation from TTUTA.
